Cancelled -- The Fashions of Little Women

      This event has been cancelled.

Join us for a lecture and discussion of the fashions of the early Victorian period and the social pressures behind them. Using the oscar-winning costumes of Little Women as a launching point, this talk with Fashion Historian and Fruitlands Interpreter, Elizabeth Ives, will also touch upon the use of costumes to reinforce charters in Little Women.

Elizabeth Ives is a textile artist and fashion historian with over 20 years experience in the field.  She has a BFA in textile art from the Art Institute of Chicago and a master in history from Villanova University, where she focused on material culture.  In her career she has worked on stage costumes, taught many hands on workshops, and lectured at Philadelphia University, on Fashion and Textile History.  In her artistic work she focuses spinning, weaving, and natural dyeing.  She is also a proud wife and mother of one daughter and 3 cats.

Please note that space in this program is limited and pre-registration is required.
